Do you remember when the NHL had a unique tie to their own history by using the names of the sport’s forefathers to represent the conferences, divisions, and trophies? Well, the trophy names have stuck, but the conferences and divisions did not fair as well during an unpopular commissioner’s attempt to simplify the sport to the hockey layperson, mimicking the style of other popular sports leagues. In contrast, there are many NHL players, management, media types, and knowledgeable fans that would like to see the classic conference & division names come back, and obviously don’t need our descriptive terms “dumbed down” geographically. In the meantime, we can try and get the attention of NHL brass with this shirt, as well as celebrate old time hockey, while we hope for change.

The NHL's Adams Division was formed in 1974 as part of the Prince of Wales Conference. The division existed for 19 seasons until 1993. It was named in honor of Charles Francis Adams, the founder of the Boston Bruins. It is the fore-runner of the NHL's Northeast Division.
Constantine Charles Francis Adams (18 October 1876 – 1947) was the first owner of the Boston Bruins in the 1924–1925 season and owner of Finast, one of the United States largest grocery store chains at the time. Born in Newport, Vermont, he was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1960. Under his leadership the Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in 1929.
He was also the owner of the Boston Braves and Suffolk Downs. He was ordered by commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis to sell the Braves due to his stake in Suffolk Downs.
The last team lineup for the Adams Division lasted from 1982-1993. Teams included:
▪ Boston Bruins
▪ Buffalo Sabres
▪ Hartford Whalers
▪ Montreal Canadiens
▪ Ottawa Senators
▪ Quebec Nordiques

* This design is printed on "Bone White" Anvil 980 ring spun cotton tees. These tees are incredibly soft, comfortable, and flexible. They have a sliming cut, but not enough that it throws off the sizing. Bottom line, these tees will be among your go-to favorite tees.
